The Full-Size Brochure

The full-size brochure is arguably the biggest among standard-sized brochures. It measures 11” x 25.5”, which is perfect if you want to use four panels. If you want to give your audience more details about your brand or product offerings, this is the right brochure to go for.

Some of the folds that work best on a full-size brochure are the double-gate fold, the French fold, and the double-parallel fold. 

The double-gate fold features two side panels that you fold toward the middle panel. Its structure creates an effect that is akin to opening a gate. However, there is a 1/8-inch gap that keeps the brochure from buckling after the final fold. 

Also known as the right angle fold, the French fold divides the brochure into four panels. You create the panels by folding the paper in half then giving it another fold in half thereafter. The key is to make sure that the second fold is perpendicular to the first one.

This type of fold works effectively if you wish to use heavy designs on your brochures. This also works best if you plan to include maps or invitations to a big event.

As for the double-parallel fold, you fold the brochure in half to form two panels. Thereafter, you give it another fold in half. Your goal is to create two parallel folds that are facing the same direction.

The Tabloid Size Brochure

Measuring 11” x 17”, the tabloid-size brochure is similar to A3 paper size. As the name suggests, this brochure works as a small newspaper or a small magazine. This is a unique way of spreading your message, as it easily captures the attention of the receiver.

When it comes to the folds, you may use the double-gate fold, the accordion fold, or the half-fold then tri-fold. The accordion fold involves a series of alternating folds. These folds create several panels of the same size.

They liken this fold to an accordion because of the alternating folds that resemble the said musical instrument.  

Meanwhile, the half-fold then tri-fold technique creates six different panels. You first fold the paper into three vertical sections. Thereafter, you fold the paper in half in a horizontal fashion. 

This fold works well if you are using large diagrams.
