How to prepare your raised gloss mask

Raised gloss mask: Include an extra page in each corresponding PDF showing only the areas to receive raised UV, in solid black on white. Keep the mask the same size and position as your print artwork.

Keep important text inside the trim edge and extend backgrounds into the bleed. Need a template or help with the mask? Contact us before ordering.

Email proof: Within 1 business day after ordering, once artwork is ready. Uploaded files do not display as an online preview.

Production: 3–5 business days after proof approval.

Gloss Emboss Business Card FAQs

What is gloss emboss?

Gloss emboss uses clear raised UV coating to build a glossy texture on selected areas of the card. It creates a raised effect without pressing the design into the paper.

How is raised UV different from regular spot UV?

Regular spot UV adds a glossy finish with little noticeable height. Raised UV builds up above the surface, creating a texture you can feel.

Can I add gloss emboss to both sides?

Yes. Select One Side or Both Sides in the Gloss Emboss dropdown. The quantity menu shows the price for your selected size and finish.

What should I highlight with raised gloss?

Logos, larger text and decorative patterns work well. Avoid relying on very small text or fine details for the raised effect. We can help review your artwork.
